Specifically i'm talking about stem cells. Stem cell research has shown real potential to be able to cure disease and potentially save millions of lives. However there are many people who have a moral and religious objection to the use of stem cells, specifically cells obtained from aborted baby's. I see the people who object to stem cell research as holding back the technological advancement of all mankind. Despite this, research presses on and eventually stem cells will likely yield cures for many common diseases. When this happens should those who had a religious objection to the research that led to the cure be allowed to be cured? Why or why not?
Even though I strongly object to their viewpont I think they should still be allowed access to a cure. What i'd really like is to find a way to make them feel what it's like to lose a loved one from a disease that stem cells could cure. I think most who object have never been in such a position and if the shoe was on the other foot they might change their mind.
